leaving do disaster!!

by h4mm1 @ 2006-01-08 - 15:06:04

Well what can I say, would have preferred to stay in and watch whatever **** was on instead of X-Factor. Was really glad my mate had organised me a leaving do. She had been planning it for me since October. Five of us,(the old gang) All really close friends were gonna have a really special night out. She had got James good friend down from Wales as a surprise for him, and she was going to do a few great things for me as well.... Until that was, Thursday afternoon when we found out from James sister that he had invited about 20 people to meet up in Stewarts..

Now having not been able to get a straight story from anyone, no-one seems too sure where it all went wrong, James swears blind he was told that it was a night for everyone, that he didn't call anyone someone else organised it and that although contradicting what he had been told before he just assumed plans had changed.

So anyway the outcome of this particular act of savagery, is that I ended up sitting in a pub (not my favourite one) with ONE close friend ( Carla had had a mad rush having a phone around Friday when she found out what had happened, but unfortunately, most people had already planned stuff, or didn't answer) whilst James had lots, which much as you don't think it will bother you, and much as I like everyone who was there, and appreciated the fact they had come, left me feeling a little pi**ed!!!

So, me and Carla left, went on a mini pub crawl just the two of us, had a bi*ch and a moan and quite a few drinks and fortunately met up with quite a few old friends of mine ( I then got lots of hugs and good wishes ). Unfortunately though it wasn't quite the evening that had been planned!!!

Moral of the story, If you ever going away... organise your own leaving do, and if your going with a partner, contemplate having seperate ones!!
Please heed this advise, or you may end up going on your own!!!

Anyway, all's good again now, and the good thing about having 3 leaving do's (close friends, work, family) Is that you get three chances to have a least one decent one!!!

The first leaving do!!

by h4mm1 @ 2006-01-07 - 17:06:48

Tonight is the night of my first, of quite a couple of leaving do's. This one is 'the special friends.....' there are going to be six of us there and my best mate, 'Carla The Lamb' has organised everything and not told me anything!! Sure it will be most excellent, although maybe a little sad!!

I get the impression it may get a little messy as I think 'the Lamb' is intent on getting me as drunk as is humanely possible..... this could be bad news as we attempted this the opposite way around on her 30th birthday in December and lets just say I became very good friends with my toilet the next day as did she!!

By Boyf, James, should have a good evening as well, he doesn't yet know that a really old friend has come all the way from Wales to see him, so that will be a pleasant surprise.

As a final note all I can say is that i'm hoping against all hope that my friend hasn't got me a stripper. It's something the devious little cow has wanted to do for ages but never had the chance. Hopefully she hasn't managed it this time either, as I'm fully expecting it on my 30th, but at least by then I'll have had 4 years to prepare!!

13 days to go!!

by h4mm1 @ 2006-01-05 - 22:07:17

only 13 days to go till I board a plane on the first stage of the trip. Am going to Sth Africa, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, America and Canada. Been handling it ok, was very excited when we first booked the tickets months ago, since then have been bored of the whole thing and just want to go, and then today for the first time ever I had a moment of utter sheer terror. Luckily it only lasted a minute and then I was back to being bored!!
I am completely unprepared, have only booked the 1st 2 nights accomodation, still have things to buy, haven't tried my pack on and don't know what i'm taking. Oh and the obvious one don't have enough money, but then who does??
